Quality In, Quality Out
The quality of your 3D models directly depends on the quality of your input photographs. This guide covers everything you need to know to capture photos that produce stunning 3D results.
Lighting Essentials
Proper lighting is crucial. Use soft, diffused lighting to minimize harsh shadows. Natural daylight from a large window works well, or use a softbox setup for consistent results.
Background Selection
A plain, neutral background helps the AI accurately isolate your product. White or light gray works best. Avoid patterned backgrounds that might confuse the reconstruction algorithm.
Camera Settings
- Use the lowest ISO possible for minimal noise
- f/8-f/11 for good depth of field
- Use a tripod to ensure sharp images
- Shoot in RAW if possible for maximum detail
Angle Coverage
For best results, capture your product from: front, back, left side, and right side. Ensure some overlap between angles so the AI can match features.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Inconsistent lighting between shots
- Moving the product between shots
- Blurry or out-of-focus images
- Extreme camera angles
